Yarn Along--Wee woolly things

I am back again for Ginny's weekly Yarn Along.  I haven't touched my February Lady Sweater in a week, having put it aside in order to knit little things that don't drive me insane offer instant gratification.  I started with Waldorfmama's pattern for a doll sweater, but it became evident early on that the seamed sweater would be too bulky for Gemma's 12" baby doll.  So I found this pattern, and I must say, it was the quickest, easiest thing I have ever knit other than dishcloths.  I love it, and it fits beautifully with the blue dress I sewed up for her doll.  Can't wait to give them to her on her birthday in July.

As for reading, I am halfway through The Two Towers, and it is looking more and more as if I might actually finish it soon enough that I might still get to read another book or two before my life is over.  If only I was 20 years younger, I could stay up later without my eyes closing and the books falling from my hands!

Although it is not a real "read", being about 55% illustration, I am perusing this Atlas of the Civil War with interest.  We are beginning to study the Civil War now, and I plan to spend a good deal of time on it.  There are so many great novels, movies, documentaries and biographies to make use of, not to mention the museums and historic battlefields in Tennessee and Kentucky.  This atlas is from a set of three books my dad brought here last time he came.  He knew we would love them.

Well, I will get back to knitting the FLS soon, but I have one more little cardigan and maybe a bonnet to do for Gemma's doll first.  And I need to order yarn for a shawl...

Hope to peek in on all of you this week, too!
