Monday Musings--16 April 2012

Right now:  Slate-gray skies and a fine rain.  Chances are we will have some thunderstorms today.  I don't mind; in the weeks since our early spring began, I think it has rained only twice, and both times briefly.  Bret has left to work, the boys are all playing and arguing intermittently, Gemma is still sleeping and Una is on the computer doing Algebra.

This weekend...was busy.  We did our running about in Bowling Green on Saturday.  We made 10 stops, if you include stopping for gas on the way home.  Three were at thrift shops to look for shoes for Una.  She outgrew her tennis shoes, has holes in her Crocs and is on the verge of outgrowing her one pair of dress sandals.  We did find some decent tennis shoes at least.  Will check the dollar stores for the "mock Crocs".
I also managed to stop at Hobby Lobby and get cotton yarn for a knitting project and some fabric for another skirt for Una.

In the late afternoon  I worked on some watercolor albums for the Etsy shop.

Yesterday was, of course, Divine Mercy Sunday, and we went to Mass at the Chapel of Divine Mercy.  They had confessions throughout Mass, and it was wonderful to see so many taking advantage of that.  Afterwards we ate a lunch we brought along and chatted with friends, some from nearby and some who had come from far away to be at the Chapel for the Divine Mercy Sunday devotions.

In the late afternoon I worked on some watercolor albums for the Etsy shop again.  The cases are all done, and my workroom looks like a disaster area.

Some plans for this week:  Well, I had better make a little order in my workroom!  I also want to finish the albums and get them listed in the shop.  I don't know if I will have the time, but I would like to sew another skirt for Una.  I may only have time to hem the first one I made for her, as it has a really large circumference (over 100") and will no doubt take an eternity to pin.  I also have a little birthday project to make for her if I get a chance.  We have school to do (did fairly little the past two weeks), and there's the usual butter to be made, laundry to keep up with, and various household things.

If I find some time for myself, I would like to...work on my knitting!  I haven't been knitting in the last couple of weeks, and I have so missed it!

I am grateful for...the rain, even though it means the kids will be indoors all day.  The pasture really needs it. I am also grateful that we all got to confession yesterday.

Some prayer intentions for this week:  for the health and well-being of my family; that we can have a peaceful and joyful week; that we might also have a productive week.

Something that makes me smile:  Adrian wanting to eat his meal alone on the play-set...and saying the blessing over it.

As always, I welcome you to borrow the header image and post your own Monday Musings.  Link your post back to this one, if you would, and if you wish, you can leave a link to your post in the comments here. Have a blessed week!

  1. Love that image :) It always warms my heart when my kids remind me to say the blessing when we're too busy or out somewhere and it slips my mind.
