Right now...5:40 a.m. and dark. I don't hear a thing but for the hum of the fridge. It is to be another glorious day weather-wise.
This weekend...was quite nice. Friday was a bit crazy, however. My dear husband decided that Friday afternoon was a good time to go to Goodwill to look for jeans for Una (after her most recent growth-spurt, her last pair of jeans was about four inches too short for her). We also had grocery shopping to do, so, seeing as we didn't leave the house until three, and Goodwill is thirty minutes away, by the time we got done with all of that and picked up two cheese pizzas to bring home for dinner, it was dark. We got home after seven and everyone ate pizza in his or her pajamas.
Um...I can't remember Saturday. I know I did laundry, showered, got kids bathed and cut Bret and Sebastian's hair. Bret picked up five pullets which should start laying in a few weeks. But I can't account for the rest of it, and no, I wasn't on a drinking binge.
Sunday was very nice. Confession and Mass, a visit with my sister while Bret planted some trees, a good dinner, a little relaxing with my knitting in the evening.
Some plans for the week...I need to get my lesson plans in place for the next six weeks. I took a look at the first five weeks of school and things are going well, except that we've skipped history or science a couple of times. And I let Adrian slide by without writing practice too often (I ought not do that--I have lived to regret it with Sebastian and Gabriel!)
I also need to place an Amazon order for a few things for Christmas and for Gabriel's birthday next month. And I need to help the kids with their costumes for our little All Hallow's Eve party that we have...if they could finally settle on what they want to be! Each child seems to have at least two or three ideas.
Also, we are very excited to be participating in our first Art Trading Card exchange! Kimberlee at Pondered in My Heart is organizing it as a way to celebrate the saints in for the month of November. I don't know if all the kids will participate, but Una is definitely very happy about it.
If I find some time for myself, I want to...knit and sew! I still need to order some novelty flannel for pajama bottoms. I guess I first need to figure out how much yardage I will need per child...
Some prayer intentions...for the pregnant mamas I know and for their babies; for my nephew, Matthew; in thanksgiving for some work coming Bret's way; for a greater spirit of joy in me, so that my kids can see that loving God makes all burdens lighter...
Something that makes me smile...Gemma's big, wet, open-mouthed kisses!
