So much for praying for joy! I think the Lord is trying to teach me that true Christian joy isn't just the joy that comes when everything is going right; it is the joy that holds fast even when nothing is. It has not been a very pleasant morning. I am failing miserably as a Christian wife and mother. And to top it all off, I forgot to put up my knitting bag and Gemma pulled the needles out of the sport-weight leg warmer. Do you know how hard it is to get needles, even going down to size 2's, back into all those loops? Do you know how hard it is to do with teary eyes and a runny nose?
It's 9:30 in the morning. Is it too early to cash in my chips and call it a day...?
I say...have a glass of wine....or stronger It's five o'clock somewhere :)

I read a really good post recently which basically said that real joy is a decision. I wish I could come over, pick you up, and take you for a quiet cup of coffee! But, since that is not possible, I will offer a prayer for you right now. Peace
ReplyDeleteCan I join you in calling it a day? I have had melt down from all the kids today, before 1000! Then the former baby was "helping" the new baby take a nap. Yeah, that didn't turn out well.
ReplyDeleteNow it is nap time and I am sitting in their room, not to take a nap with them, but to keep the two girls from getting out of bed and to make Karol take a quiet time break! I cannot wait until Saturday, when Joshua is home all day!
