Quiet Joy

We've had a good Christmas.  Yes, there have been arguments and some whining.  I'm not feeling so grand, and Una is under the weather today as well, but all in all, it has been good.  Makes me feel a bit tense at the prospect of beginning school again soon.  We have had a long break, and we won't have another as long until summer.  And as much as I like schooling my kids at home, I prefer playing with them much more!

I especially love the early morning, when I get to do my morning prayers and reading beside the lit tree.  And I love not having to stick to a tight schedule...board games before breakfast?  Okay.  Spice cookies for lunch?  Why not?

We are cutting snowflakes today.  That's the plan.  I had better get going with the paper-folding...

Hope you are all having a beautiful Christmas, too!

  1. Merry Christmas to you too. I've enjoyed catching up on your blog. Loved the birth pictures of your youngest one. I'm 41 next month and hoping for another. You give me the inspiration I need.

  2. How about a blog-famous Nadja tutorial on snowflake cutting. The flakes Matt and I did with the kids leave much to be desired I am afraid! No pressure ;)

  3. Merry Christmas!

I love your nativity scene. We need one for our new home.

  4. Would do so, Elizabeth, if there weren't already so many tutorials out there.

Take a look at my "Fun Stuff" list on my sidebar. There's "Make a Flake" virtual snowflake cutting, and it is addictive!
