St. Pio of Pietrelcina

My dear "Uncle Pio."  For some reason I am able to talk to him in the same familiar, yet respectful, tone with which I might address a relative.  I almost never whine at our Blessed Mother or our Lord, but somehow I feel alright about whining to Padre Pio when things are feeling overwhelming.

I'm thinking that it might be a good day to bake something in honor of his feast.  Maybe an almond-scented pound cake, served up with lots of fresh whipped cream and berries...

  2. Oh that sounds delicious!! I was thinking of making cappuccino and tiramasu (sp?) :).

I scream at him a lot. He doesn't seem to respond to me until I'm at my most dire need. After I have an emotional meltdown directed towards him, it's amazing how he comes through. Must be the Italian hot-bloodedness, hehe.

I'm so glad you love him and complain to him! Yet one more reason you're my hero.
