Yarn Along--deja vu

Back for Ginny's Yarn Along again this week, and I am right about where I was on my February Lady Sweater  a few weeks back when I found an error in my lace and became depressed by my sloppy button holes and ripped out the whole thing to start from scratch.  Actually, I think I started twice more after that, until I finally gave up on the one-row button holes and went with the good ol' YO K2Tog.  I will have to use smaller buttons, but who cares?

As for reading, besides continuing to work through The Return of the King, I haven't done much.  I have done a little catching up on some of my old favorite blogs which I haven't looked at in a while.  This week has been about getting the house in order as I get ready to leave town for the weekend to go down to Alabama with some friends and our daughters for a Mother-Daughter retreat.

If you would, say a prayer for a special mom I met in Charlotte, NC when I was a new Catholic and pregnant with my first baby.  She just gave birth to number nine last month, a little girl with Down's Syndrome.  Celeste Faustina has just had cataract surgery and in another 3 months or so will be needing heart surgery.

Hope to find some time to see what everyone is knitting and reading this week!

  1. The yarn is a lovely color. Everyone seems to be working on the February Lady Sweater, I may have to try this out. A special prayer for you and your daughter as you travel. Along with the new mother and her baby.

  2. Nadja, I thought I was the only one who ripped out sweaters and started completely over, but it does feel nice to have it just right. I am happy to hear you are back on track.
Of course I will pray! :)

  6. I will say a prayer for Celeste. A friend of mine gave birth to a down syndrome baby 2 months after my daughter was born. It frightened us and we just had no idea how it would all turn out. Just yesterday she posted pictures of him taking a friend from school to the prom. We never would have imagined that 17 years ago! God is good.

I struggled with my February Lady a few times and had to put it in time out.
