Yarn Along--Summertime Blues

I am back again for Ginny's weekly Yarn Along, chastened by the fact that I only found time to visit a few participants last week (I do love to visit and see what the ladies are reading and knitting, but with well over eighty joining in each week, it is not easy!), and by the fact that I am not completely done with this sleeve.   This sweater is taking somewhat longer than I had hoped, but I took time to sew last week, and that certainly cut into my knitting time.  Although I am not in love with the way this yarn handles (oh, I do hope it will block well in spite of its acrylic content!), I do love the blues and think it a lovely colorway.

Needless to say, I haven't been doing a great amount of reading on my own.  I am still enjoying a few pages of Adventures in Orthodoxy each night.  I read chapter books to the older kids--I need to pick out a new one--but I frequently put off reading to the little guys, since most of the time they really don't want to sit still for a book and want to run off and dress up or build forts from the sofa cushions anyway.  All that is about to change, as Gemma loves books and can sit for long periods turning pages and looking at pictures.  I picked out a few books from our largish collection of Golden Books and thought I would read a few this morning, before the day gets too crazy.

If you enjoy books and knitting or crocheting, stop over at Small Things for the Yarn Along!

  1. The sweater is looking great. I love Golden Books. We had them growing up and my girls love going to my mum's and reading the ones that belonged to my brothers and I. Jacinta

  2. It generally takes me about two to three days to go through all of the Yarn Along posts. Don't feel bad. :-)

  3. I love Golden Books too :) And so do the boys. They are just some of the best. I can go through fits where I get tons of reading done and then I can't read for myself for weeks... I guess it goes with the territory :)
