Monday Morning Musings--June 7th, 2010

Right now...6:30 a.m., and it is promising to be a beautiful day.  We stayed up a bit late last night watching A Tale of Two Cities, so everyone is still sleeping in.

This past weekend... was wonderful.  Well, Saturday was pretty ordinary, but Sunday was a real day of grace.  As we headed off to Mass at the Fathers of Mercy, the sky was dark and threatening.  We had play clothes and a pasta salad in the back of the van in preparation for the picnic that was planned for after Mass, but it wasn't looking good.  The sky grew darker as we got closer to Church.

The Corpus Christi Mass was a Novus Ordo Mass, but in Latin.  It was quite beautiful.  but during the Mass it began to rain, and so the procession took place with the congregation seated and the Blessed Sacrament processing around the church indoors.  When Mass ended, however, the wind was quickly drying the wet grass and blowing the clouds away, and the afternoon ended up being sunny and lovely, if a bit on the breezy side.

Sebastian made some friends and all the boys were engaged in play, and Una went home with a friend to spend an overnight there.  She will come home some time this afternoon.

Best of all, perhaps, was coming home to see Max yelping and wanting very much to get out of his pen.  He has a runny nose (sign of an upper respiratory infection, no doubt), but his appetite is back and I do believe he is over the worst of it.

Some plans for this week:  School, pay some bills, clean the insides of my computer, and plan for next weekend, for the Mother/Daughter Retreat in Alabama.

If I can find some time for myself, I want to... finish Una's period dress.  I am down to the button-holes (scary!) and the hem.  And I have about 2/3 of a sleeve left to do on Gemma's sweater.

Special prayer intentions:  For my friend Cindy's family, as they sit on pins and needles regarding the sale of their home; in thanksgiving for all God's recent gifts to us; for good results for the medical tests Bret had last week, and for my paternal grandfather, who is , at age 87, in hospice care right now and possibly living his last days.

Something that makes me smile:  Goofy Max...back on his feet again!
If you want to borrow the header image and do your own Monday Morning Musings, go ahead  and let me know in the comments so I can read your post.  Link back to mine, if you would.  Have a blessed week!

Next week, perhaps, I'll get a Mr. Linky thing in place...

  1. I know what you mean about button holes!! They're pretty much impossible to undo (especially if you've put the hole in), but I suppose they're easier than zippers.

Glad Max is back up. He doesn't look like a fuzzy puppy anymore!
