1) I washed all my floors. You have no idea how badly they needed it unless you, too, stick to patches of blue kids' toothpaste whenever you go into the bathroom...

2) I have about a third of the kitchen cleaning done. On one side of the kitchen, all the cabinets have been cleaned out, vacuumed, wiped and emptied of things I don't use and pre-millenium food items...I figure another 5 days (working about 2 hours a day), to finish the kitchen, including cleaning the oven and cook top and emptying and cleaning the fridge and freezer. Then it's on to the pantry...

3) I've continued to put meals on the table and resort to cereal for breakfast only once or twice a week.

4) I invited my mother to dinner. I love having her over, but I dread asking her because I don't want to make her feel obligated to come. She's of a nervous disposition (much like her own mother and my sister), and I always fear that my gang is too much for her nerves. They all want her attention and can be quite overwhelming. Anyway, she gladly accepted, and I have promised the kids that good behavior will receive its just rewards, as will poor behavior...

  1. Good for you!! :)

I'll admit that I'm a little jealous that you got the floors washed...for our little farm, we've had a ton of rain and the dogs keep bringing in a good deal of mud!

And congrats on the pregnancy! :) It seems like it was just yesterday that I had that widget on my own sidebar!!

  2. I'm definitely jealous of you cleaning all your floors. I'm having to resist the nesting instinct right now because I've been put on bed rest for an overanxious cervix. :) It's driving me mad. Can't believe I WANT to be scrubbing floors and toilets!

    Blessings!

  3. Good job, Nadja!

Living in a rural setting, I know only too well just what a challenge it is to keep the dirt, grime and mud off the floor!

    Blessings!

  5. Danette, I wish I could actually get my house clean by the end of Lent, but I'm now figuring two weeks just to finish the kitchen and pantry! I have reset my goals--I hope to be done with the house by the baby's due date!

  6. it's ok to reset your goals. i always figure it is better to think big and get SOME things done rather than ignore everything and wake up one day and find that your whole life is unmanageable! great list-and i know what you mean about the sticky toothpaste...we've that problem here too!
