Since our move to the pentecostal badlands of Tennessee we have assisted most regularly at masses celebrated by priests of the Fathers of Mercy, whose site you can check out right here.
Anyway, since those who go to mass there have been temporarily banished while the new Chapel of Divine Mercy is under construction, we have had little opportunity to socialize with the priests, seminarians and novices. The seminarians are back in Kentucky for their summer break, so we thought we'd have them over for a cookout and invite a family or two from church as well. A sign-up sheet was put up and I was informed last night of the head-count:
All eight seminarians, the two novices and four or five priests intend to come. Along with our family, my sister's family and three other families we are looking at nineteen kids and twenty four adults. A monster cookout. This coming Sunday afternoon.
The main menu will be pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw, burgers and hot dogs. I'll be making a 5-bean salad, baked beans and brownies as well. My sister and friends will help round out the menu with a variety of other salads and desserts. I wonder if I will get a chance to chat with anyone...
So, excuse me while I lose my mind, and please pray for excellent weather or we'll be pretty thick in here.
