Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O Jesus, meek and humble of heart,
Make our hearts like unto Thine.

It is on these beautiful feast days that I really wish Bret could find work at home to do. I would love to make a visit to the Blessed Sacrament as a family today, but even if I could do it alone with the kids, I don't know that I would want to...it really takes both of us to handle the little guys, and spending half an hour hissing at them under my breath would sort of defeat the purpose of the visit...

Mom brought over a big, beautiful sage for me to add to my herb bed yesterday. Actually, it's so big I think it will have to go next to the transplanted rosemary that nearly took over the bed until we removed it. I gave her some radishes. Hers had bolted, and no one here eats radishes except for me, so I have plenty to share. I also made yogurt yesterday. Since we will be drying off the cow as of next week, it will be the last home-made yogurt for a while. I dread buying milk at the store, not only for the taste, but for the cost as well. We go through about a gallon a day here, and I have been making my own yogurt, butter and sour cream. Butter I have in abundance, probably 6 months worth in the freezer, so I won't need that at least.
