I'm back with Ginny again for this week's Yarn Along. I never did post a photo of Una's Sweet Peasy, all complete with the buttons. I didn't run them all the way to the bottom because there were too many! I need to learn how to space my button holes when I am adapting a pattern (the original has only two buttons...I like sweaters to leave me the option of covering my tummy!) Anyway, it looks better on Una than on the hanger...
I also finally got around to lengthening the sleeves on Gabriel's hooded tunic. He is a casual type, and this pullover seems right for him. He is barely able to pull himself together for Mass ("Do I have to tuck in my shirt? Can I just wear a polo shirt?"), and he chose the pattern and the yarn so he had better wear it.
I've not made much progress on Adrian's Henley...I am just separating for the sleeves now, but so many things are going on...making and ordering Christmas presents, getting things into the Etsy shop for Christmas, planning for Thanksgiving, Advent and Gabriel's birthday in two weeks...
I am very excited at the prospect of buying myself a little belated birthday/early Christmas present, thanks to the generosity of my mom and grandmother...I think I am going to finally break down and buy the Knit Picks Harmony interchangeable cable needles. I have repaired my bamboo 24" cable so many times that I think it is probably only 23.5 inches by now, if that. Every time I have had some money that I could have put aside for needles, I ended up spending it on yarn...even now it is tempting.
No new reading...I really need to finish the two books I am reading currently and start a new chapter book for reading aloud to the kids. I am dying to read the Little House series again, but I want to wait until we get there in our American History. We are only now at Jamestown!
Are you knitting for Christmas? Buying books as gifts? I'll be checking the Yarn Along for inspiration...
Both those sweaters look GREAT! I am knitting like c-r-a-z-y at the mo for Christmas ;o) Enjoy your interchangable needles - what a treat!
ReplyDeleteBoth of those sweaters are SO sweet. I'll bet the Sweet Peasy is so cute on a little one. The hoodie is great. My older boys would love that! I'm knitting like crazy for Christmas (and have been since about July). So many knits and so little time!
ReplyDeleteYou're an amazing knitter. I am not such a great knitter. I prefer to crochet. For Christmas, I'm making bird ornaments...visit my etsy shop to see some of them: www.etsy.com/people/homemadegoodness
ReplyDeleteHowever, I find I can knit a small shawl for a little bird easily! So I guess I will be knitting for Christmas.
Such beautiful sweaters. I love the hoodie.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty sweaters! I've had Peasy in my faves for a while now and would really like to knit one up for my GD soon. And I do love my Knit Picks Harmony Woods interchangeable circs - love the pointy tips.
ReplyDeleteCrazy knitting going on here ;) I love the sweaters and I am with you... I may be getting some of those needles soon, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sweaters!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on the peasy! Love the little heart buttons, it definitely makes the sweater.
ReplyDeleteThe sweaters look lovely. The heart buttons on Una's sweater look very sweet. I hope you get to purchase some those needles. I am tempted to buy interchangeable cable needles one of these days myself. Jacinta x

ReplyDeleteLovely top cardi and especially liking the hoodie, my boy would so love that! I really need to stop spending on yarn and buy a new set of wooden crochet hooks instead, just wish yarn was so less tempting....
