My friend Cindy just sent me this email:
Madeline is okay, but if you could pray that she can get past a little hurdle that she's come up against. She's having some kind of reflux problems, so that when she eats it's causing her oxygen levels and her heart rate to go down. It starts as soon as she begins to get the milk in her tummy. They've even put her on a pump to make her milk go in slower, but right now it's not helping as much as I wish it were. They don't think it's anything major, but it does have them puzzled, because normally reflux doesn't happen until after the tummy is full. They are watching her closely though. They are so very kind to me and very good at always talking to me. The doctor or resident doctor will come anytime there is a problem, there's someone there 24 / 7, that's a great comfort to me and the nurses are just awesome. She still needs to gain weight and keep it on instead of gain and lose and gain and lose. I know we will get past this, it's just a bit unnerving for me when I have to watch her struggle. I know I can count on the extra prayers. I was able to hold her for two hours today, that was great. She's so little and sweet. Thank you so much for the prayers and support.
God bless,
Cindy
Thank you for the update. I thought of Madeline today. I will continue to pray! Good night
ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray. One of the twins had the same problem. He had to be on Zantac until he was about 7lbs
