Outside my window…another grey, wet day.

I am thinking…about the fact that I have been shortchanging the boys. We have a delightful collection of picture books, and I have not been reading to them! Mea maxima culpa!

I am thankful for…all the work that has come in for Bret lately. It is wonderful that he has been able to stay home with us. The money certainly isn't steady, but we are squeaking by somehow. I am also thankful for people like the Tri-county Electric repairman who came out at 11 p.m. in the pouring rain to replace the blown transformer. And I am thankful that I can put toddlers who wake up in the middle of the night in bed with Una when they refuse to sleep on a pallet beside our bed.

From the kitchen...blueberry muffins and yogurt. My menu plan for the week is patchy, so I need to figure out what's for dinner...

I am creating…I am between projects, but there is a cotton sweatshirt-style pullover I would like to make for Dominic.

I am readingReading My Daily Bread. Easy to digest as it is served in small bites. Perfect for my addled, distracted brain.

I am hoping…to have a productive week, and that the rain will finally stop so that things can dry out and I can send the kids outside to play!

I am hearing…noisy boys! Dominic has only two volume settings: Loud and off. And he is at the "Shrieking Age", meaning, his response to every offense is to let out an ear-piercing shriek.

A few plans for the rest of the week… the steer, T-bone, goes to the butcher this morning. I hope to start a new knitting project. I need to make a grocery list for Mother's Day, since we--my mom, my sister's family and mine--will celebrate it over here.

The children are...in the schoolroom making a racket. All but Una, who is still in bed.

A Picture Thought: Not a picture, but a video. My dad emailed this to me last night, but I didn't open it until this morning. It made me smile.
