...well, how Dominic's older brothers deal with it, anyway...

Yarn Along--starts and finishes
I am joining Ginny for her weekly Yarn Along today.
Well, I finally got the buttons sewn onto Gemma's Mini Chic pullover. It is very soft and looks nice, and what's more, Gemma likes it, which is more than I can say for the first Mini Chic I knit for her (which is now in our Etsy shop, since she won't wear it). My Ravelry notes are here.
I am very excited to be knitting something for me for the first time ever! Seriously, I have never knit myself so much as a hat (with six kids, there is always someone else to knit for). I was so taken with Ginny's February Lady Sweater that I decided right away I needed to knit one. I bought Cascade 220 in Ireland (I was torn between that and Shire, having a love of greens), and got started as soon as the yarn arrived.
I am still trying to read The Two Towers, managing only a few pages each night before my eyes close and the book falls from my hand. I do love reading the book, and am somewhat consoled by the fact that at this rate, I may be able to make the experience last the rest of my life!
I missed the local beekeeper's association's beekeeping class back in February, which rather spoiled my hopes of getting hives this spring, so I am consoling myself with some bee-related reading material until the next class. As for the book, ADHD: Living Without Brakes, it was sent by a lovely lady with a couple of ADHD kids of her own. I must say, I find the title both amusing and very apt.
I hope to stop in and find out what you're knitting and reading this week!
